Trump Asks Tom Hanks For Favor, Hanks Embarrasses Him With One Perfectly-Worded Response

Many perks come with the job of being President of the United States. You get to be one of the most powerful people in the world, and everyone is supposed to respect you. But when reality television star Donald Trump stepped into office on January 20, 2017, the rules of engagement were changed. No longer was the office of the presidency a thing to respect. With Trump, a mean-spirited, bully calling the shots on behalf of millions of Americans, no one felt like they had to pull back their punches anymore when it comes to the man in the Oval Office.

Although approval ratings for the president are at an all-time low, Donald Trump doesn’t realize no one likes him.

That’s why he recently tried to use his private White House screening room to schmooze with some of Hollywood’s elite.

This in-home theater is reserved for the First Family, so they can see blockbuster movies before the average American gets a chance to watch them.

This week, Oscar-winner Tom Hanks releases his new movie, “The Post.” The highly anticipated film, where Hanks starts alongside Oscar-winner Meryl Streep, is supposed to be one of the biggest movies in recent history.

Because it is expected to be such a hit, the Hollywood Reporter asked Tom Hanks if he would host a private screening for the president and his family at the White House.

Tom Hanks offered the following blunt reply.

“I don’t think I would. Because I think that at some point – look, I didn’t think things were going to be this way last November. I would not have been able to imagine that we would be living in a country where neo-Nazis are doing torchlight parades in Charlottesville and jokes about Pocahontas are being made in front of the Navajo code talkers. And individually we have to decide when we take to the ramparts.”

Tom Hanks is courageously saying “NO” to President Trump because he is a mean-spirited, sore loser.

Hanks continued by saying:

“You don’t take to the ramparts necessarily right away, but you do have to start weighing things. You may think: ‘You know what? I think now is the time’ This is the moment where, in some ways, our personal choices are going to have to reflect our opinions. We have to start voting, actually, before the election. So, I would probably vote not to go.”

Hanks has been a quiet Democrat and a faithful Christian for a long time. But in the year that Trump has been president, Hanks and others are seeing that being a silent participant in the American fabric is no longer an option. We need to be vocal and speak out against the things that Trump is doing that are destroying America.

Trump failed to adequately condemn the white supremacists and neo-Nazis who killed innocents in Charlottesville and held rallies in other parts of the country. Trump issued a travel ban against Muslims as soon as he entered the office, which is an unprecedented act of bigotry for the president.

Hanks has the right idea. It is time to resist in every way we can.

  1. I agree with Tom Hanks. I think a lot of the Spirit of America has come down. We need a change here in America. We need to get out and VOTE IN 2018 and 2020

  2. Please edit your work: “killed an innocent” not “innocents.” When you exaggerate, you are no more innocent than Trump, and you ruin our case against his lies.

    1. He probably was referring also to the two VA State Police officers who died in the helicopter crash while observing the rally.

He was not inflating the loss.

  3. Trump is destroying America, I cannot see its beauty any longer; but the beauty of America will only show when Trump and his cabinet are gone ! Vote 2018& 2020.

  4. Perhaps it took this WH threat to our democratic way of life in America to wake us up. I’m so sorry for the childish, hateful words and condemnations that have come from the WH and for our loss of worldwide respect, but maybe we have learned a lesson about pep rally voting attitudes. They can lead us to mob mentality rather than thoughtful voting. We need to tread carefully and vote conscientiously.

  6. Thank you, Tom Hanks, for you excellent response to “the Donald”👍🏻‼️‼️ I totally agree with your words of wisdom & truth❤️🇺🇸‼️ We all must stand up to his lies & evil agenda😡‼️ The only way to make “America Great Again” is to get Trump & his criminal administration out of office, at LONG LAST👍🏻😍‼️‼️‼️

  7. Hanks’ willingness to call out Trump on his hateful, mean spirited treatment of so many individuals here and abroad, and his choice to deny Trump yet another self indulgence is refreshing and hopefully Others in ALL fields will follow. He’s correct in saying WE all need to seize opportunities to defy this wretched ‘Man’.

  8. This 12 year veteran of the United States Air Force who is a Christian and a life-long voter thanks Mr Hanks for standing up to the tyrant and his administration.
This administration wants a parasitic dictator-led aristocracy that feeds off the vitality of others. Symbiotic societies survive without figureheads; figureheads DON’T survive without societies.
Despite their claims of being Christian (Christ-like), their attitudes, rhetoric, and actions are NOT Christian.
They completely ignore the Commandment of Christ to “love thy neighbor as thyself” (Matthew 22:37-40).
And they directly defy the Commandment of Christ to NOT dominate or be dominated. In Matthew 23:8-12, Jesus said we have only one Master – Christ – and we have only one spiritual Father – God the Creator.
They will answer to God the Creator for their unholy priorities.

  9. Thanks to Mr Hanks and everyone who speaks out against the hateful rhetoric, cruelty, and injustices occurring through this administration.
Sometimes God permits people / countries to experience the consequences of their sin. Sometimes that action is necessary to get people / countries to repent and follow the attitudes, teachings, and practices of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospels and throughout the New Testament.
For too long, America had chosen to emulate the Pharisees instead of Jesus. Now Americans are reviewing the attitudes, teachings, and practices of Jesus. Many Americans are returning to the Word of God instead of continuing to prefer “the traditions of men”.
Jesus openly and frequently rebuked the Pharisees for preferring “the traditions of men” – America has now been rebuked.
